The great Mayan Civilization of Mexico and Central America is world renowned for their accurate astronomical observations and calendar systems. But prophecies gave Mayans the respectable acknowledgment. Of their seven major prophecies couple of them are already showing pragmatic signs and couple of other took the world in awry when they were depicted in movies.  “A heat wave will increase the temperature of the planet, producing geologic and social climatic changes in a magnitude without precedents at an amazing speed”, these riddling words of Mayans can be compared with the modern-day definition of “Green House Effect”.   “Global Warming” was predicted by the Mayan centuries ago, which is seconded by their prophecy of  “Increase of temperature caused by the ecological conduct anti of the man and a greater activity of the sun, caused an ice melting in the poles when increasing its levels of activity over the normal thing, will be a greater solar wind production, more massive eruptions from the crown of the sun, an increase of the irradiation and an increase in the temperature of the planet."

Around a decade back, the world was in Pandemonium and broadcast channels throughout the world had one string of numbers which poked many and gave goose bumps to numerous, “2012”.  A blockbuster movie of 2009, “2012” depicted the end of world which was based on Mayan prophecy. Since few of the prophecies were already true or were close to reality, this prophecy got the required attention from the world. But we are in 2020 reading articles, writing examinations and finishing off our work, so Yes, the prophecy failed! Extrapolating it from the fact that nothing happened in 2012 and we are alive in 2020. But did it really fail? The Mayan prophecy quoted, “That our world of hatred and materialism will finish Saturday 22 of December of the year 2012, that stops that day the humanity will have to choose between disappearing like thinking species that threatens destroying the planet or evolving towards harmonic integration the universe yet, including/understanding that everything is alive and conscious -, that we are part of that whole and that we can exist in a new era of light” . The Mayans had different types of calendars for different purposes, one of them was the Long Count Calendar which spanned 5125 years and whose span ended on 21^st December, 2012.  The end of the long count calendar represents the end of an old cycle and the beginning of a new one.

If we take a look in our near history of couple of hundred years, we can join the dots which may point to the interpreted meaning prophecy which was depicted in the movie. Global warming, Natural calamity, Terrorism these are the obvious and the most direct way in which civilization of HOMO SAPIENS is affected and a number of us perch abode the route to hell or heaven! But, apart from these recognized direct ways, an another more serious and superior way through which our race is getting perished is PANDEMIC. Once in a decade a disease spreads across the world at an uncontrollable pace and serious consequences the world faces.  One of the earliest examples which can be recounted is of the, “The Great Plague of London”, 1665. Around 20% of population of London was reduced because of the plague. Then 1817, “Cholera Pandemic”, which caused one of the greatest pandemonium on Earth. It was one of the first pandemic in which death toll reached 1 Million. In 1981, “HIV/AIDS” was identified and ever since more than 35 Million people have died because of it and still no acceptable cure has been found. Swine Flu pandemic of 2009 shattered the west world and India also had number of fatal cases. Mayhem caused by these diseases is in polar different manner than any other type of uproar in society. During pandemics, public places are quarantined, human gatherings are discouraged, at a certain phase, we can feel the phrase, “Time really stops!”  In the last century, existence of humanity faced couple of strong blows, Chernobyl nuclear disaster, Spanish plague, blooming of terrorism, world wars and the list goes on. All these happenings pose a serious concern in front of us  a seed of thought, “Is it the beginning of THE END?”

Our race of homo sapiens, are behind number of Inhumane activities. We have exploited nature, flora and fauna in ways unspeakable. Ozone layer is depleted, atmospheric temperature is more than ever, natural resources are ameliorated more than ever, the Green-Blue earth is covered up in a Grey-Black blanket. So, can we align our thinking process in the manner that, “This is the way nature or using theological POV, “God”, is punishing the world. Or healing the earth and putting back everything in order.”

 We are just in the third month of 2020, COVID-19 virus has rattled the world with the speed it is spreading. Corona virus affected region Live Map. Corona viruses (CoV) are a family of viruses that causes illness from common cold to severe disease like SARS. COVID-19 is a zoonotic disease, which means, it can be transmitted between animals and people. The outbreak of the disease from the district of Wuhan in China.  Gradually it spread through out the world, and now earth is at the phase, where many countries are locked down. Since the disease spreads through respirator droplets of an infected person, this disease is rightly going with the flow.   China and Italy are the worst hit countries. There are Double-digit fatalities in most of the major countries. Colleges have been shut down, companies are giving work from home, people are reticent for meeting at any sports event and celebrating a festival. It is rare and serious occasion when even the Holy Mecca is quarantined and no one can worship the Prophet. In serious terms earth is at a standstill.

Maybe the Mayan people were not so wrong, “Earth Is at a standstill?”, yes. “There is lock down in major countries of the world?”, yes. “Human are caged?”, yes. “People are dying?”, yes. “Animals are moving freely?”, yes. “Blanket of smog is less dense?”, yes. “Marine life is showing healthy change?”, yes. “Flora of earth is blooming again?”, yes. “Humans are united and are fighting against the same thing?”, yes.  So, maybe it is the new era of light.  There is chaos, there is uproar, there is pandemonium among people  but earth is healing.     

The serious and fatal blows faced by the world hints the human race constantly  that the doomsday is close. Pandemonium of these Pandemics and predictions of Mayans are all not just events and some scribbled words, they are the galled correlation which many of us are still not accepting. World is besmirched by the acts of humans and libertine of nature is going to cause fathoms unprecedented.

It’s the peak time we humans take grave steps or  pandemonium of pandemics is just going to be harsher.
