POLICIES OF POLITICS

         Politics is derived from the Greek work “politika” meaning “affairs of societies”. It is the process of making decisions and implementing them by an organization for the development of society. Taking decisions for a nation or any state is not any layman’s work. One has to face and work under peer pressure and routine for supplementing the needs of citizens. BUT along with pressure and trauma comes boundless power and stature in society. The after effect of getting in commanding position to take hold of state and nation is dream which one never fails to see. But the perspective now a days is not for doing humane work and finding joy and peace even in the mundane schedule. But to enjoy perks, status and definitely power, boundless power which can be limited only by the constitution and a person having thorough knowledge of the same.

         After independence Jawaharlal Nehru became the prime minister of India and Sardar Vallabhbhai patel the home minister. Bureaucrats and critics imagined the reverse process. But as per sources and also mentioned in the book of respected congress spokesperson and author “Shashi Tharoor’s” book “India from midnight to millennium and beyond”. By playing politics and convincing mahatma Gandhi Nehru took the position of prime minister and giving patel the later. It is considered by critics as one of the most unlawful and shameful scam of India. Definitely it was not plausible, but being specter of the fathom India and Pakistan faced during the partition. No one wanted to showcase their resentment and lay foundation for any other internal shatters. Mr. Nehru with its not too radical thinking and approaches but acting as if still bonded by the shackles of peace. Answered all the vicissitude   with a common answer “peace”. Rather he advised the committee to give the seat to neighboring country CHINA.  And today facing the Doklam issue and Chinese insurgency and vigilance we just hope to go down the memory lane and change his rodomontade statement.  During indecency India was in clutches of the orthodox and illicit mentality of casteism. Considering the matter and developing the downtrodden and shudras of India. Constitution mentioned to provide reservation in all sectors for uplifting their society. And this was the moment when the most important policy of Indian politics was defined:

“Nurture the people belonging to the deprived category and gain their trust and act to work for them along with seldom being pragmatic”.

       Since then politicians and political parties of India have seeked this policy and devastated the nation and sunk the Indian treasure in their pockets. By promising the citizens of India and also seldom being pragmatic giving reservation in all sectors to gain their trust. Even today to seek the power new political parties and Indian youths are working under the same principle. Recently in elections of Gujarat, the policy being failed can be witnessed. “Hardik patel” leaded the patidar reservation agitation. But failed miserably. Even with the help of master of the policy Indian national congress. The reason is the awakening of citizens of India. Due to this rotten policy, India has lagged back in many fields. Instead of working on the development and uplifting the citizens and quality of life. Politicians were tangled in providing reservations. As a result of which the scenario in government jobs is likely more coveted by reserved category.

    15% seats are reserved for schedule castes, 7.5% for schedule tribe, and 27% for Other Backward Caste. Summing up to 49.5%. This are the stats as per, data provided by government under RTI.  DUE to such biased and reserved system which is misused by many citizens has created anger in youth for the reserved category.  Reservation system was brought by Dr. Ambedkar to remove the inequalities in society and create harmony among all. If the protest of mandal commission were agreed in 1990 and quota would have been reduced, today harmony could have been witness more and transparent. 

According to the reservation category in jobs and educational institutes many people are committing frauds by creating fake caste certificate just to benefit themselves and unlike the pre independence they are proud to shower their backward caste. Today as Ambedkar sir said the reservation is to uplift the downtrodden. Their dream has been achieved in a sense. But still their other points of creating harmony and peace all along is long way to go.

       Policy of reservation is still follower by many parties still and have been successful too in winning the seats. But working radically on this policy is beneficial to all .

      After Nehru, in his lineage Indira Gandhi, Rajeev Gandhi became the prime ministers. Gandhi in no means is not at all connected with Mahatma Gandhi, the name came from the Parsi Feroze Gandhi whom Indira Gandhi married. And thus Indian national congress became a family party rather than a national party. Family member’s incumbent in all important positions. Today Rahul Gandhi is the party president. His mother Sonia Gandhi “Antonia Maino” was the ex-president of the party. During the rule of Indira Gandhi, no doubt India surged as one of the important developing nations in the world. Alike her father she was bold lady and was pioneer of archetypal decisions. Nationalization  of banks, Bangladesh war(1971). One such decision costed her , her life. Operation blue star it was. No one before ever had tried to do an operation in a religious place. That too in the most religious place of Sikh’s “the golden temple”.

      Due to Gandhi family’s lineage in congress, nepotism under them was not a new thing. One new licking and caressing their butts would give them a position of honor, as during that time no party was in a condition to rule the center.  According to The dogmas during the time congress was considered invincible in center. Though at many places united front would take the seat. During that time, some people having excessive chauvinistic approach would move from one party to other party just to be in rule and serve their motherland!! It is commonly known as defection.

In 1967 when a MLA from Haryana named “Gaya Lal” changed parties thrice in a fortnight a humorous expression spread in India “Aaya Ram Gaya Ram”. This led to anti-defection policy being passed by Rajeev Gandhi. This moment disclosed the other important policy :

“money and power lures everyone. And being with the most powerful person or the most powerful family, seldom brings chaos in life. So choose the party to support carefully”.

And so except for the defeat of Indira Gandhi in1975 to Moraji Desai (janta dal) main reason being the decision of emergency. Only congress party was ruling the complete tenure till 1998. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the only candidate to complete a whole tenure and who was not from Indian national congress.  Analyzing, for nearly 50 years a family party ruled the nation. Thus second policy of politics was definitely working and a successful principle too it was. After Vajpayee, Mr. Modi seems to complete the tenure, becoming only 2^nd non- congress prime ministers to complete full tenure among the total of 14 Prime Minister Indian’s have selected.

But with the augment of 21^st century and chances and incentives provided to youth. With many policies being successful passed by either of the governments. Policies of politics have started failing. Recent Gujarat elections are the epitome of failing the first policy as Hardik Patel failed miserably to win the constituency he was standing for. And a tea seller becoming the most recognized and considered as most powerful person;

Prime minister of India “Narendra Modi” has definitely failed and changed the policy of family politics and subverting the dogmas. Even the contestants are realizing there is nothing or very less to gain by rodomontading in front of the Indian youth and citizens of India.
