The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance , it is the illusion of knowledge

THE GREATEST ENEMY OF KNOWLEDGE IS NOT IGNORANCE,IT IS THE ILLUSION OF KNOWLEDGE

In today’s world the enemies, countries are facing, humanity is facing ; the most talked  dilemmas are  terrorism, poverty, security concerns and all. But magnifying the scale and looking at individual prospects. What are the matters, that people are facing, who are our enemies,  which are  the problems where we need to look upon but tutelage is mitigated. As philosopher and philanthropist William Shakespear sir told

                           “ I say there is no darkness but ignorance”

Our biggest enemy is ignorance at points , at matters which needs to be curated assiduously but we overwhelmed by our tiny knowledge, ignore it  in umbrella of our ego that we do have its knowledge. We ourselves feel so insecure that even if we know , we are not correct at certain point, to keep our nose up we tend to ignore others help, we tend to follow our incomplete clues. We masquerade ourselves as the most supreme knowledgeable  person and feel shy and disgruntled to apply on someone’s apt advice. This in many incidences lead to  catastrophe

Such actions do not end only with outcome which affects an individual but many a times the ignorance, and illusion of knowledge envisages dark outcome for the society , the consequences are bad for everyone. Many such examples are there in history where illusion of knowledge led to Quagmire or  catastrophe .One of such famous example is the “sinking of Titanic”.

 The owning firm of Titanic “white star line “embezzled the world by naming “titanic” as the ship which cant sink. And by one of the many reasons Titanics maiden voyage was also the FATAL  voyage , was ignorance  and mirage of knowledge by a wireless operator. Titanic did received a warning from a ship about an iceberg , but the operator ignored it considering the construction to be much more solid according to his knowledge. This illusion of knowledge led to an event penned by red ink in history.

Ignorance is a menace the reason behind many problems , but  above it the illusion of knowledge which leads to ignorance is the seed of pandemonium in many cases. We know when a catastrophic event happens in a region , where their false umbrella of knowledge cant save them from bombarding questions  the officials often stonewall the questions. They at the time instead of showcasing their knowledge becomes the befuddled baboons as the knowledge they had was just an illusion, a mirage only!! In such cases we can aptly remember “will durrant’s” quote about ignorance

            “Our knowledge is a receding mirage in an expanding desert of ignorance”

The more we learn the more we feel like  a priest , we feel ourselves as the most holy soul ,the one having most knowledgeable conscience. But when we start feeling so it’s the start of the end, we are actually becoming SHAMAN , curator of our own  end; and maybe sometimes others also. After even having such attitude and knowing we feel as why the world doesn’t follow us, we dream about being leaders.

We forgot  one important thing that the great leaders world has seen like GANDHI, MANDELA were not living in illusion of knowledge neither in pool of ignorance, what they did was listening scrupulously, thinking plausibly ,working arduously on it and were having the quality to cajole. They were even resilient if there act retaliated or went in vain, But we sunk in the ocean of ignorance and or vision covered by mirage of knowledge , we are not ready to accept or hear people’s advice . Instead of of engendering the quality of gaining knowledge, we act on what we think . The short term gratification of the act subserve us to do such in future too. So instead of becoming a luminary for someone, the outcome of our task hardly even makes us person to admire. Definitely we are those disgruntled specie who are not willing to accept the truth.

Our illusion of knowledge is the biggest obstacle in achieving our goal, proving our motive in life.

The best way to counter this is trying to have a lower hand in the situations where we are learning , where we can learn . when we are interacting with a senior or person who has achieved something in his field many times, due to our illusion of knowledge and satisfying our ego we even do not consider his points and are  ready to continue being baboon. We need to start learning the fact , we need to sometimes let go our attitude. We need to rejuvenate our mind from being a victim of mirage of knowledge. We need to live in reality we need to learn we need to clarify  and filter our barrel of knowledge. We need to amend some of our ways in life to get rescued form this black hole or this catastrophic hole we need to endeavor for the same , it’s not physical but its an endeavor against our attitude , against our mind. Aristotle rightly quote

“WE are what we repeatedly do, Excellence then,is not an act but habit.”

Such small habits which we can change can lead to our success,  our acts ending eucatastrophically.  We need to wake from slumber and change our thinking, we need to slide the curtains of illusion and let the ray  of knowledge and acceptance of truth embrace us.

We can give a person knowledge , but we cant make them think. Some people want to remain fools , only because the truth requires change. Thus we cant force someone to change ,the illusion can be removed only by one’s effort.!!
